On July 25, Pueblo West Metropolitan District will launch a new website with a cleaner, easier to navigate layout and enhanced functionality that will increase government transparency and accountability and provide enhanced opportunities for community engagement. The website pueblowestmetro.com has undergone a comprehensive redesign process by CivicPlus, a leading government website provider. Pueblo West has also partnered with Accela and ClearGov, both national leaders in government communication and transparency solutions. Features of the new site include an intuitive online bill payment system, a park facility reservation system, and a meeting agenda and minutes module, as well as two new features that will increase communication between residents and the Metro District and increase fiscal transparency.

A new feature of the website is MyPuebloWest, a citizen request management (CRM) system that will facilitate questions, concerns, Committee of Architecture violation complaints, and other service related inquiries from residents in an effort to more efficiently resolve citizen requests. MyPuebloWest was developed by Accela, a leading provider of cloud-based productivity and civic engagement software solutions. The new system is both part of the new website, and a mobile phone app and can be downloaded for free from both Apple and Android app stores.

MyPuebloWest will foster better two-way communication between the Metro District and residents allowing for 24/7 submission of requests. Residents can stay connected to the Metro District with status updates pushed directly to their smartphone through the MyPuebloWest mobile app. With access to MyPuebloWest on the District’s new website and through the smart phone mobile application, Pueblo West encourages residents to get an email address to help better streamline communication. If you do not have an email address, you can get one for free many online providers including Google Gmail.

“Accela’s solution provides a unified agency portal to track, address and resolve issues quickly,” said Daryl Blowes, GM/EVP Engagement Solutions for Accela. “With the implementation of Accela CRM, Pueblo West Metropolitan District will be able to better prioritize issues and allocate resources, and then also be able to offer increased transparency on project status to residents. This modern manner of 2-way communication will also work to significantly reduce operating costs and provide overall improved community engagement and satisfaction.”

“Both the website redesign and MyPuebloWest are part of an ongoing effort to increase transparency between the Metro District government and the residents of Pueblo West, through user-friendly design features and convenient request management technology,” said District Manager, Darrin Tangeman.

Another feature of the new website is a first of its kind fiscal transparency portal, developed in partnership with ClearGov. This new tool will enable taxpayers to clearly see how Pueblo West is funded, make relevant comparisons with other communities, and see how this funding is allocated to provide services to our residents.

With these technology enhancements, Pueblo West also wants to remind residents that in addition to general inquiries facilitated through these new technologies, residents can submit a request for most government information through the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). The most up to date information about CORA can be found on the website for the Colorado Secretary of State’s office or by clicking here for specific information on how to request information from the Pueblo West Metro District.
